ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 1. SEALED BIDS for the furnishing of the necessary materials and construction of WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE SYSTEM FOR THE ROANOKE RAPIDS SANITARY DISTRICT, NORTH CAROLINA will be received by the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District at the office of the CEO, R. Danieley Brown, 1000 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 until 10:00 AM, LOCAL TIME Thursday, November 12th, 2009 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud. 2. The proposed work consists of: Sodium hypochlorite wastewater treatment disinfection system. 3. Bids must be submitted on a complete contract. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District, P.O. Box 308, 1000 Jackson Street, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, 27870, and the outside of the envelope must be marked “Bid for Wastewater Treatment Plant Sodium Hypochlorite System” If a Bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed as above. Bids by FAX transmission are not acceptable and will be rejected. Bids must be made on the blank Bid form issued by Addendum, if any. The name, address, and North Carolina Contractor’s license number of the Bidder shall be plainly marked on the sealed envelope. 4. The Bidding Documents, including Drawings and Project Manual with Specifications, are on file at the office of the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District and at the office of ARCADIS G&M of North Carolina, Inc., 5. A list of Bidding Documents (Plan) Holders will be available via the Internet at www.arcadis-us.com. At the top select “Services”. At the top left select “Infrastructure”. Then select “Bid Advertisements” (above “Recent Mergers:”). Scroll to the advertising office, then to the project; select “Plan Holders” view option. 6. Each Bidder must be a Bidding Documents Holder as defined in Article 1 of the Instructions to Bidders. 8. The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District, 9. The Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District, North Carolina anticipates receiving funding from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund Program (SRF) to aid in financing the Project. The requirements for Bidders, Contractors and Subcontractors are explained in the Bidding Documents. 10. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 29, 2009 at the Roanoke Rapids Wastewater Treatment Plant, 135 Aqueduct Road, Weldon, NC. Representatives of OWNER and ENGINEER will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference.
